Located in the High Atlas, 200 km east of Marrakech, in the province of Azilal, the Cirque de Taghia has become a favourite place for travelling climbers over the past twenty years. Since the first guidebook was published in 2008, a considerable number of new routes have been created. If the 300 or so routes listed today are concentrated around the small village of Taghia, this book lifts the veil on recent openings made around Zaouia Ahanesal, not far from Assemsouk, under the enigmatic plateau of Maskou or on the slopes of the eloquent Amesfrane.

Finally, beyond the aesthetics of the stone, here, in these mountains of the High Atlas, the beauty of the landscapes and the great humanity of the people who inhabit them go straight to your heart in a frank evidence.

Taghia et autres Montagnes Berbères is a guidebook by Christian Ravier and Ihintza Elsenaar on the major climbing routes around the village and gorges, cirque of Taghia, in the High Atlas in Morocco. The book presents more than 300 climbing routes traced on complete and detailed diagrams, some with black and white photos. Numerous texts and photographs accompany the routes, providing abundant technical, practical, cultural and historical information on the area. The 425-page softback booklet is bound in an Integra binding, a technique that combines flexibility and solidity, ideal for this type of small travel book to be placed in the backpack. It follows on from a first edition in 2008, with many new routes added.
