The Beal Escaper device allows you to rappel the full length of a single rope and release it from the anchor.
The ESCAPER rappel system is designed for descending on a single strand of rope and later retrieving it. It is compatible with ropes that have a diameter greater than 7.3mm. This device is both compact and quick to install, and its textile construction makes it lightweight. We strongly recommend familiarizing yourself with it before your first outing. Once you've mastered it, the ESCAPER becomes essential equipment for all mountain enthusiasts!
The ESCAPER rappelling device is ideal for the following situations:
- When rappelling with only a single rope available
- When one of the two rappelling ropes is defective or unusable
- In freeride or ski-mountaineering, when the abseiling rope is too short for use in two strands
